A SHOW OF RHYTHM

A synesthetic visual of Fathom + Form. The parallel and intersecting lines of metal frame work become a sonic experience for the architecture audience.

The Goal

As before, the overall goal of each of the concepts is to inject personality into an otherwise static field, dominated by a modernist and neo-modernist aesthetic.

We are reminded of our muse: Orville Peck. Equal parts visually stunning and conceptually challenging, with nods to the history of Country music and the outlandish flashiness of show girls and go-go dancers, Peck embodies his own unique style without letting that style overshadow his authentically skilled musicianship.

The Logic

This concept is unique from the previous ones as it focuses on a multi-sensory experience of the viewer. The overlapping and chasing visual lines present in the imagery evoke not only motion, but the deep, sonic resonance of metal as a material object.

  • Although less bold than in previous concepts, the color choice is meant to evoke light and heat, standing in stark contrast from the weight and coldness of the metalwork.

  • There is a strong linear stress present in this imagery, and the lines exist in mass multiple. The repetition of lines creates depth and movement, creating portals and moments for viewers to enter and exit the work—much like the function of windows and doors, themselves.

  • Typography is meant to behave in a similar linear fashion to the imagery. Interspersed and interacting with the images, rather than overlaid, the typography helps create an alternate field of view, interrupting the static viewing plane.

The Social Presence

Constant motion imbued with sonic quality, both actual and perceived, is the hallmark of this social media set. The overall feeling creates a comfortable hum of action, reminiscent of a beehive—active, crafty, and industrious.
